Get ready for an exciting year full of journalism at IU! The officers are hard at work putting together events for the coming year, and we are excited to focus on programs. Dates will come out soon, but here’s a little peek at what’s coming.

Early this fall, expect our annual First Amendment Free Food Festival. We’re hoping to break records with this one, so tell all your friends.

In November we are participating in IU Dance Marathon, which raises money for Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. The whole chapter will be involved with fundraising and supporting our dancers, Lindsey Erdody and Mary Kenney. Contact Mary if you’d like to be a dancer or on the on-site support team.

We are also putting together internship workshops and other events with students and professional journalists.

And then, of course, we have SPJ conferences. The national Excellence in Journalism Conference will be in New Orleans Sept. 25-27. The regional conference will be in the spring.
