Police needs to be tough all the time. They have all the rights to implement force when it is needed. I just hope that some police would not abuse their power.

okay.
i think that the police have the right to use force if they need to. The victim’s should know that if they disobbey or charge a police officer, they will get taken down. My dad is a police officer in Bloomington, Indiana and he’s only had to use force a couple of times in his 20+ year career. Why would you try to run away or do something stupid to the police? If you do something to a police officer, when you go to court, you could be charged with more accounts of stuff than your original charges. Just think before you act. (:

I like the conflict brought up in this article.
Media is often blamed for what bad things occur in real life; that with an audience you have the power to influence. Even people of authority such as police officers are subject to following what they see and believing its the right thing to do because media potrays it as so.

i thnk that much of what they put on tv just makes the cops look greater than what they really are, because most of the time the cops let a person go without giving them a ticket or anything.

I think that media is “reflecting” on life itself. Showing us what we do, and letting cops abuse their power the way they do on TV. The March 3rd beating, did he really deseerve it? What did he do to get beaten? And did they really have to use that much force? That’s just a couple of questions I have about it…

I think poice are given a good name by the media. It may not be the atuality of the realistic situation, but thats what they give us. A bunch of cops chasing around one “bad guy” and until hes been captured after lumping fences and recieving flat tires. I think their given too much credit as well, especially since they let people get away with speeding tickets putting your and everyone else’s life in danger.

Police are really abusing there power to much. Police are intended to help us, but what happens when we trust them so much and they turn there back on us? No one will bealieve a common person over an officer. I think the more the media see’s police officers as bad guys, the more and more they get closer to teh truth about them.

In my opinion the media makes cops look big and bad. In real life, they are. They have to be. With the whole March 3rd beating, I question, did the motorist do something to effect the cops? if not then they had no right. But if so then yes physical force was required.

Police shows “celebrating” police roughness towards civilians is now translating into real life. Life reflects the media now and all the media has to do is dim down it’s violence with police towards civilians and cops in real life won’t try to put on some sort of act to encourage the people.
