I dont think it was a smart idea to break laws to get a story. The right way to get information would be to interview the people involed and getting valid information. A journalist needs to show good taste when reporting. The reporter should have set a good example for the orginization in which they were working for.

I think that the reporter violated the code of ethics by tresspassing and doing shady business. He could have still gotten the truth just by interveiwing the families and workers outside. He wasn't getting behind a lie, he was breaking laws to get more truth. I understand that this would help his job and get more news out. And i think it was good he took a risk, but legally i believe that he should not have made the decision to act like someone he wasn't and decieve other people. This could put a bad reputation on the station.

I agree with the reporter's decision to jump the fence. The information the reporter received was extremely important for the public to know. The 100 names of the hostages is way better than just knowing there were 100 hostages in general.

"It’s one thing to tell Atlanta readers that 100 Atlantans are being held hostage, and another to tell them which 100 and whether they are safe."

No joke. I was right there for it. I don't know what they were thinking.
