I think it depends on the situation weather it is right or not to lie to get information. In this case although i think it was the right thing to do, because this man may of broken the law, but he revealed some very important information on the security of the plant and also warned the public of some of the plants careless behavior.

Of course this brand of journalism should be approved. If a hospital has patients complaining of malpractice, dont the public have a right to know? Doesnt the society at risk provide the best reason to unearth the truth? Lying is sometimes the only way to get the truth, and if the truth is greater than the lie, then this is reason enough.

This kind of journalism should not be allowed. They were not given permission to get the information. i dont believe that the reporter should not get in trouble though, because he did not know that he was doing any wrong. But that he should get a warning just in case he does it again.

I believe that that kind of journalism should not be allowed. They did not have the permission to find out information about that so i believe that is like cheating. I think this reporter should get fined or be penalized with jail time for faking to be someone else. This type of reporting is a terrible thing and it should be a crime.

I think that if I was in the position that this reporter was in I wouldn't of been able to keep my second identity a secret either. I would've felt bad for making friends and having to continue lying to them. I think the idea of going undercover to get a story wasn't a bad idea, it would be very hard though. I was surprised to find out that the reporter didn't get into any trouble after coming clean about being somebody else. The reporter chose to report the story undercover even when he knew it was illegal to do so.

I say that lying is a bad thing. It can get yo into a lot of trouble in some cases. If it was serious enough you could go to jail for it. In this case he got lucky on a random lie that turned out to be true. In many case you should think before you lie.

In my opinion i think that this kind of journalism should be allowed. They took a risk and found out about some very important information. I know things like this will always be outlawed but if journalists never took the chance then we would never find out some of the dirty secrets behind our governments, banks, and police security.
