Professors Jae Kook Lee, David Weaver and Lars Willnat participated in a meeting at the University of Texas-Austin on "New Agendas in Communication" Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. The meeting was sponsored by the College of Communication to honor the retirement of Professor Maxwell McCombs.

Lee presented a paper on the effects of age on media agenda setting. Weaver gave a brief keynote speech at the beginning of the conference, and Willnat served as a discussant for two of the papers.

Also attending were IU alumni Lindita Camaj, PhD’11, who is now a faculty member at the University of Houston School of Communication, and Jason Martin, PhD’11, a faculty member at DePaul University's Department of Communication in Chicago.

Camaj presented a research paper on the impact of media use on political trust and participation in Kosovo, and Martin presented one on the role of news and candidate websites in setting the agenda of a senatorial campaign in Indiana.
