Professor Radhika Parameswaran's essay, "Watching Barkha Dutt: Turning on the News in Television Studies," has been accepted for publication in a special issue of the journal South Asian History & Culture that will focus on television's expansion in India.

Barkha Dutt, one among a handful of Indian women journalists who have gained national prominence, is a leading television news reporter, host of the popular public affairs show, We the People, and a newspaper columnist.

Parameswaran said doctoral candidate Ammina Kothari provided research assistance on this project.
