Brittney Elkins

Hello, I'm Brittney Elkins. I'm a 23-year-old journalism student from Warsaw, Indiana. I am graduating this year from IU and Africa is my last adventure as an undergrad. After graduation, I'm not sure where I'll find myself. I am interested in multimedia and radio and enjoy doing graphic design projects as well. Other than that, I'm looking forward to traveling to Africa and can't wait to get to know all of you a little bit better!

Making Friends

What a day. We met with the students at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) again this morning at 10. After being put in pairs– one IU student, one Moi student– we talked with our partners about story ideas and plans of action. I am teamed up with Joan (pronounced Jo Ann) for our [...]

Preparing to Leave

Wow, tomorrow. I didn’t think it would ever actually come. Tomorrow morning we will meet at the normal class time, 9am, and get all of our stuff organized. I’m mostly packed, although I won’t be completely confident in my packing skills until my bag weighs in under 50lbs. I have been spending the past week [...]
