Website looking for reporters, photographers

Gena Asher | Jan. 15, 2011
Interested in getting some published clips this semester? The School of Journalism Web site needs reporters and photographers to cover activities and events at the school.

Stories are news feature style and most are about 300-500 words. Web Editor Gena Asher assigns stories, but encourages Web reporters to generate their own ideas as well. Reporters should be competent photographers, but Asher is looking for photographers and videographers, too. These positions are open to journalism students only.

Pay is $10 per hour for assignments that typically take one to three hours each. Assignments are sporadic throughout the semester.

Applicants must have clips, whether from classwork or published, and photographers/videographers also must supply samples.

How to apply:
  • Complete the online application on the website’s Forms page, under "Miscellaneous."
  • Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23.
Questions?
  • Contact Gena Asher by e-mail or phone, 855-5433.
