Roy W. Howard Professor David Weaver participated in a one-day seminar Sept. 19 at the University of Texas at Austin commemorating the 40th anniversary of the original agenda-setting study done in Chapel Hill, N.C., by Maxwell McCombs and Donald Shaw. Weaver chaired a roundtable on the psychology of agenda setting. McCombs and Shaw chaired two other roundtables on new research areas and new media Weaver is on leave this semester as the Park Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
