Twenty journalism students are embarking on their summer internships as part of the School of Journalism’s Summer in London program.

Associate professor Owen V. Johnson is leading these honors students who will work in a newspaper, magazine, public relations firm or Web company for the next eight weeks. They also are taking a course in British media and culture, learning more about the history, social context and politics of the media system in which they are working.

And they are taking in the culture of London and Europe with trips to the theater and the Tower of London, excursions to Stonehenge and Bath, Dover and Canterbury, and Oxford.

They’ll blog about their work and experiences for the school Web site. Check out this page for upcoming reports.
