Student publications rake in Gold, Silver Crowns

Indiana University’s student publications staffers won five top honors from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association during its annual convention March 15 in New York City.

The CSPA presented 18 Gold Crowns and 26 Silver Crowns, with IU taking three gold and two silver, more than other competitors.

Students won 25 individual Gold Circle awards, including 13 first places.

The Indiana Daily Student won two Gold Crowns, for fall 2008, edited by Audrie Garrison, and spring 2009, edited by Michael Sanserino.

The IDS Web site, idsnews.com, also won a Gold Crown. The 2009 Arbutus yearbook and Inside Magazine’s Web site, idsnews.com/inside, won Silver Crowns.
