Full-time jobs may be available for designers and copy editors. Intern pay is $500 a week. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the door of EP202 beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, for juniors, seniors and graduate students. Friday, Nov. 5, the sign-up sheet will be open to sophomores. Students will take their application materials to the interview.
All applicants submit a resume and a cover letter, not to exceed 500 words telling whey they want to be interns, ambitions, interests, journalism experience and computer skills.
Students must also submit work samples in one of the following categories:
- Designers: Up to 20 samples of your work, including layouts, graphics, illustrations, cartoons and other examples. Unpublished pieces also accepted.
- Multimedia: Applicants should have a basic knowledge of Web publishing and HTML. Experience using graphic design and Web page creating software.
- Reporters, copy editors and editorial writers: A maximum of 10 published clips. Unpublished pieces accepted if you haven’t had material published. Clips will not be returned.
- Photographers: Portfolio of at least one picture story (with contact sheets or CD) and up to 20 single photos. CDs accepted. Portfolio returned upon request.
