School hosts guest speakers

A fall semester rich with visitors and guests continues Wednesday when TV news journalist Lisa Ling talks at the Buskirk-Chumley at 7 p.m. She is the second of the school’s Fall Speaker Series guests.
Other speakers scheduled to visit:
  •  Oct. 8-11: German journalists visit as part of the RIAS exchange program.Oct. 12: University of Florida professor Gigi Durham vists to talk about academic careers and jobs in the Ernie Pyle Lounge.Oct 22: Dana Jacobson, ESPN2 "First Take" anchor/reporter, visits J520 and J410. He’ll also speak at an open session at Woodburn Hall 120 at 7:45 p.m.
  • Oct. 22-23: Ladies’ Home Journal health editor Julia Kagan will visit Oct. 22-23 to talk to classes. Kagan has edited many magazines over her career.
  • Oct. 26: ESPN anchor and alumna Sage Steele visits at 10:30 a.m. in the Ernie Pyle Auditorium. Open to all.
  • Oct. 31: Photojournalist David Turnley speaks to J520. He and his brother, photographer Peter Turnley, are on campus as Fellows for the Institute of Advanced Studies.
  • Nov. 5: NBC news correspondent Bob Dotson will talk to J520, J410 and will host a session at 8 p.m. at Ernie Pyle Auditorium.
  • Nov. 7: Ken Paulson is the third guest of the School of Journalism’s Fall 2007 Speaker Series and will speak at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall in the IMU.
  • Nov. 27: Lesley Fair, a senior attorney for the Federal Trade Commission, will talk about regulation of marketing and advertising. Her specialty is dealing with marketing new media.
