At last year’s ceremony, Dean Brad Hamm and Marge Blewett congratulated Vanessa Pinna, who won the Marjorie (Smith) Blewett Scholarship. More than 100 students will collect scholarships at the April 18 ceremony.

The School of Journalism scholarship ceremony April 18 will honor more than 100 students who are receiving funding and other awards as part of the school’s scholarship program.

Attendees include recipients and their families, incoming freshman for the 2010-11 year and donors who provide the scholarship funds. Students who have been awarded scholarships must be present at the ceremony.

Scholarships include the Ross Hazeltine Travel Scholarship, which sends a graduating student abroad to continue a project, and the Justin M. Druck Scholarship, which funds one student all four years of his or her journalism studies. The school also awards numerous others that support internships and provide funding for students pursuing specific areas of journalism.
