Gena Asher | April 2, 2009
Texas State University assistant professor Cindy Royal will visit classes Thursday,  April 9, to talk about her work in new media. At 4 p.m., she’ll talk to faculty, grad students and instructors in the Ernie Pyle Lounge about integrating social media into the classroom.

Royal’s students at Texas State have won multiple awards in the AEJMC "Best of the Web" competition and she finished second last year in the AEJMC "Promising Professor" competition.

In addition, Royal is the editor of a bi-weekly e-zine for Texas Music Magazine and has operated her own live music information/review Web site for more than 10 years. She is involved in covering the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) music and interactive festival in Austin, Texas.
