Plan now to attend the 10th annual Take It Easy Open, a golf outing and fundraiser honoring the memory of the late John M. Jackson, a journalism student who died during his senior year in 1996.

The outing is set for Aug. 14 at the Links Golf Club in New Palestine, Ind. Arranged by alumni who were friends of Jackson’s, the outing provides more camaraderie than competition, according to organizers, but prizes are awarded for winners.

Jackson died of an aneurysm before graduating and friends looking for a way to remember him settled on raising money for a scholarships.

Current organizers are Greg Bardonner, BGS’01; Tom Biersdorfer, BAJ’96; JR Ross, BAJ’96; John Schwarb, BAJ’96; and Brad Watts, BGS’08.
