Associate professor Steve Raymer has the cover photograph and the lead story — images and text — in the August-September issue of Asian Geographic Magazine published in Singapore.

"Pillars: Photojournalist Steve Raymer looks back on his groundbreaking book on Islam in Southeast Asia" includes both published pictures from his 2001 book and new images from a region that has seen as resurgence of Islamic zeal and the arrest of extremists linked to Al Qaeda.
