Steve Raymer has been promoted to full professor. A former National Geographic photographer who has covered global events, Raymer continues to travel and shoot photos for books, including his current work-in-progress, Redeeming Calcutta. He has also produced books about Vietnam, St. Petersburg and the Muslim world of southeast Asia.
Mike Conway has been promoted to associate professor with tenure. A former broadcaster, Conway is author of The Origins of Television News in America: The Visualizers of CBS in the 1940s, about a small group of people at CBS who experimented with early television news at a time when many popular radio journalists dismissed the new medium.
