Eligibility:
- Juniors who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism are eligible. The School of Journalism’s scholarship committee chooses the recipient based on outstanding scholarship and dedication to news and editorial journalism.
To apply:
- Applications now are available online on the Forms page.
Late applications will not be accepted, and the Scholarship Committee will disregard applications received after 11 p.m. Oct. 20.
Students selected for interviews will be notified by e-mail. Those selected should be prepared to discuss any items contained in the application as well as journalism in general.
The scholarship honors a family long prominent in Indiana journalism, including Nelson Poynter, a former editor-in-chief of the Indiana Daily Student, founder of Congressional Quarterly and the publisher of the St. Petersburg Times.
