Professor Carol Polsgrove presented a paper Sept. 7 at a conference in Little Rock, Ark., on the Little Rock Desegregation Crisis: Fifty Years Later.
Titled "A Longstanding Link: George Padmore and the bond between African and African American liberation movements," the paper draws on research for Polsgrove’s book in progress, a study of a London-based community of Africans and West Indians who used publishing to oppose British rule in Africa during the years 1934-1959.
The conference was sponsored by the University of Arkansas.
