Doctoral student Rosemary Pennington has won a research grant that will fund her work in Berlin, Germany, this summer.

Pennington won the Pre-Dissertation Summer Research Grant for a project she proposed in I701 Multidisciplinary Seminar on Issues and Approaches in Global Studies, a course offered by the Center for the Study of Global Change in the fall.

While in Berlin, Pennington plans to meet with researchers at the Free University of Berlin as well as members of the city's Turkish community and journalists in order to lay the groundwork for her future dissertation research.
