Masters student Rosemary Pennington won Best Specialized Reporter from the Alabama Associated Press Broadcasters Association. She was honored for a series of reports completed while a producer with public radio station WBHM in Birmingham, Ala., last year.
The series, “God, Darwin & Dixie,” chronicled the debate over evolution in the state and how it affects schoolchildren.
It’s the second year she’s won the prize from the Alabama AP. The award will be presented at a special luncheon March 29.
