Parameswaran to speak at Annenberg symposium

Associate professor Radhika Parameswaran has been invited to talk at an international symposium, "Making the University Matter," at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania, Dec. 5.

The symposium marks the 10th anniversary of the Scholars Program in Communication and Culture. Her talk, "Producing Cosmopolitan Citizens: Journalism and Mass Communication in the U.S. Academy," will make a case for increasing the emphasis on globalization in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

Some of the other participants in the conference include Ien Ang, Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Larry Grossberg, Elihu Katz, Barbie Zelizer, John Hartley, Elizabeth Bird and Marwan Kraidy.
