Paper on media, Islamophobia, accepted for IAMCR

A paper co-authored by professors Christine Ogan and Lars Willnat, and doctoral student Rosemary Pennington and doctoral candidate Manaf Bashir, will be presented at International Association for Media and Communications Research's annual conference in Turkey in July.

"The Rise of Anti-Muslim Prejudice: Media and Islamophobia in Europe and the United States," explores the attitudes of Americans and Europeans toward Muslims, the media coverage of Muslims and Islam in Europe and the United States, and the potential connections between media use, religious practice and attitudes toward Muslim. The paper was accepted for presentation in the Islam and the Media working group.
