Panelists to discuss future of sports journalism

Top sports editors and writers will be featured on a panel, “Sports Journalism: Where is it going?” at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at IUPUI.

Panelists are Gerry Ahern of Yahoo Sports and Rivals.com; Mary Byrne, AP deputy sports editor; Garry D. Howard, editor-in-chief of Sporting News; Phil Kaplan, sports editor at the Knoxville News Sentinel; and Monte Lorell, managing editor of sports at USA Today.

Presented by the National Sports Journalism Center and the Associated Press Sports Editors, the panel is part of the APSE’s winter conference in Indianapolis.

The panel event is at the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex, IT 152, 533 W. Michigan St., and is free and open to the public. Students are welcome to arrive early for a reception with APSE members and panelists.
