During a panel discussion on media ethics, Deadspin's A.J. Daulerio (right) talked about his payment to a source for materials linking a football player to a game day hostess. Mike Wise of the Washington Post (left) and two other pros rounded out the panel.

Deadspin’s editor-in-chief A.J. Daulerio holds no regrets about paying a source he’s kept anonymous money for cell phone messages and photos linking football’s Brett Favre to a game day hostess.

His fellow panelists from ESPN, the Washington Post and Indianapolis WISH-TV had varying opinions about the actions, though. The conversation, “Where’s the Line?” looked at this and other ethical situations in sports journalism during the panel Monday at the IU National Sports Journalism Center at the IUPUI Campus Center.

Along with Daulerio Washington Post columnist Mike Wise, ESPN Vice President and editor-in-chief of ESPN.com Rob King and WISH-TV reporter Ashley Adamson discussed media ethics in the digital age.
