Assistant professor Emily Metzgar will present her work, “Discussing Public Diplomacy in the American Context,” at the next School of Journalism Research Colloquium at 4:30 p.m. March 24 in Ernie Pyle lounge.

Her research “offers an introduction to public diplomacy in a multi-disciplinary and policy-oriented context, with emphasis on an ongoing content analysis of public diplomacy discussions in major American newspapers,” according to the abstract.

Public diplomacy includes such organizations as Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, Alhurra and the Fulbright Exchange Program.

The School of Journalism Research Colloquia started in January as a platform for researchers to present their current work and garner feedback from colleagues.
