Media Scholars gather around members of the Indiana Pacers staff to hear about corporate communications and sports management. The group met in a suite at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis during a game.

The Media Scholars took in an Indiana Pacers game and chatted with administrators of the organization during a trip to Indianapolis March 18.

Led by visiting lecturer Marty Pieratt, the group watched the Pacers defeat the Chicago Bulls in overtime at Conseco Fieldhouse, where the organization arranged for the students to sit in a suite.

Pacers' Eddie White, director of corporate communications, and Matt Lowstetter, corporate partnership business manager, talked to students about career opportunities in sports management. The group also checked out the television trucks sending the game out live all over the world.

School of Journalism Media Scholars are a group of 10 to 15 high-performing students who have demonstrated excellence in academics, media involvement and character. They often gather for special discussions, travel or visits to media organizations.
