Professor Maxwell McCombs of the University of Texas will visit April 26 and 27 to talk to Roy W. Howard Professor David Weaver’s J660 Topics Colloquium: Agenda Setting class.

He’ll also talk on the future of agenda-setting research and the psychology of agenda-setting effects at 4 p.m April 26 in the Dogwood Room at the Indiana Memorial Union. That talk is open to the public.

Weaver said Maxwell McCombs is considered one of the co-founders, with University of North Carolina’s Don Shaw, of agenda-setting research. In 1996, McCombs and Shaw received the Murray Edelman Award of the American Political Science Association in recognition of their 30-year research partnership. Shaw visited the school in March.
