Major’s talk first of fall research colloquia

The School of Journalism Research Colloquium series kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with a presentation from assistant professor Lesa Hatley Major in the Ernie Pyle lounge.

Her topic, “Attributing Responsibility for Health Problems: The effects of combining news frames,” is one of eight set for this fall. The series provides a forum for researchers to present their work as it evolves and garner feedback from colleagues. The talks are open to all students and professors.

The other colloquia are:
  • Sept. 22: Doctoral candidate Bill Gillis
  • Oct. 4: Colloquium guest Michael Schudson, professor at Columbia University (4 p.m., location to be announced)
  • Oct. 6: Dean of Undergraduate Studies Michael Evans
  • Oct. 20: Doctoral student Li Shi
  • Nov. 3: Andrea Wiley, professor in the anthropology department
  • Nov. 17: Doctoral candidate Jeff Cannon
  • Dec. 1: Associate professor Radhika Parameswaran
