Associate professor Steve Raymer will have two photographic exhibitions opening in Bloomington in September and October.

Pictura Gallery on the Square at Sixth Street and College Avenue will stage a retrospective exhibition called "Steve Raymer: Through the Lens of a National Geographic Photographer" that highlights nearly four decades of photojournalism on five continents. The exhibit runs from Sept. 4 through Oct. 31.

The Mathers Museum of World Cultures at Indiana University will be the venue for a second exhibition of Raymer’s work. Called "In the Shadow of Cortes: From Veracruz to Mexico City," the images, along with text by IU professor of Spanish and Portuguese Kathleen Myers, trace the route of the conquistador through modern-day Mexico. The exhibition opens in October and will travel to six IU campuses.
