The late Beth Wood is a recipient of the President’s Award.

The late Beth Wood, senior journalism lecturer who died in November, and 64 journalism scholars will be honored on Founders Day events in April.

Wood is one of two recipients of the President’s Award, which was established in 1974 to recognize outstanding teaching, research or service. The other recipient is Ann Grens, associate professor of molecular and developmental biology at IU South Bend in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. They will be honored at a Founders Day dinner April 16.

Sixty-five journalism scholars who have GPAs of 3.8 or above will be honored as Founders Scholars at a special convocation April 11. This number represents about seven percent of the school’s undergraduates.
