Jayanth Krishnan, professor at the IU Maurer School of Law, will talk on “A New Approach to Legal Education in the Post-2009 Economic Environment: India and IU Law's Center on the Global Legal Profession,” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the Ernie Pyle Hall lounge. The lecture is part of the school’s Research Colloquium.

Krishnan will talk about the law school’s new Center on the Global Legal Profession, launched in 2009 to respond both the recession’s effects on the profession and “a common refrain from law students and the practicing bar (that) law schools have failed to prepare graduates for the changing and globalizing legal market,” he writes in his lecture abstract.

Krishnan heads the international wing at the CGLP and will talk about measures the law school has sought in its approach to legal education domestically and globally.
