American Student Radio launches Oct. 18

SoJ Web Report | Oct. 9, 2011
The IU School of Journalism is launching what will be the nation’s first online student radio station, and journalism students can be a part of it.

American Student Radio will offer news and features from students at college campuses who may contribute podcasts and other materials. IU students will form an advisory board, and, in the beginning, students may pitch stories or submit their work from classes such as J360 Audio Storytelling or J460 Radio Innovation. Students also may serve on the board.

For all the details, attend a call-out meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Ernie Pyle Hall auditorium. Student organizer Lauren George and adjunct lecturer Sarah Neal-Estes are coordinating the session.
