IU students win Gold Circle awards

Gena Asher | Oct. 11, 2010
IU students working on campus media racked up 74 awards, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced last week.

Senior Larry Buchanan won 14 of the awards for design and layout. Buchanan earlier this year was named Student Society of News Design’s Designer of the Year.

The Gold Circle awards for individual work in high school and college news publications (magazines and newspapers) went to first, second, third place and certificate of merit honorees. Judges said the CSPA received 9,460 entries from high school and college students in the U.S. and Canada.

CSPA awards school publications in spring of each year. In March, IU’s Indiana Daily Student, Inside magazine, Arbutus year book and the IDS website won top honors.
