Indiana University has posted information on its Web site about how it is responding to the H1N1 (swine) flu outbreak.
At this link, IU lists campus, local, state and national resources to contact or learn more. It also includes a Q&A with IU Health Center director Diana Ebling and Provost Karen Hanson’s advice about flu and finals week.
Or, if you missed Tuesday’s “Teach-In” featuring local health professionals fielding questions from the public, you can view the workshop video at this link. Those contemplating overseas study may be interested in reading IU’s revised policy in regards to the pandemic.
IU also has a hand in predicting the flu’s course. Big Red, the supercomputer, is being used to simulate the geographic course of the flu, according to this New York Times article.
At the School of Journalism, hand sanitizer is available in classrooms and labs. The multimedia lab and some other areas offer antibacterial cloths to use on keyboards and other equipment to stem the spread of germs.
