Doctoral students’ work set for AEJMC conference

Several doctoral students' work will be presented at the  at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication's Mid-Winter Conference at the University of Oklahoma in Norman March 4-5.

Doctoral student Kioko Ireri’s paper, "Race, Party Affiliation, and Unemployment in Obama's Approval," has been accepted for presentation. The paper will be presented in the Mass Communication and Society Division. It was developed and completed during assistant professor Joann Wong's J660 Journalism and Mass Communication Statistics last fall.

Doctoral student Bill W. Hornaday’s paper, "Ethical Attitudes of Male and Female Students Concerning Academics and Journalism," will receive top paper honors in the Mass Communication and Society Division. The paper is a secondary analysis of data collected by researchers at the school since the fall of 2004. The ongoing project, supervised by associate professor Mike Conway, measures attitudes of incoming and outgoing mass communication students concerning journalistic ethics, with a focus on plagiarism and fabrication. The paper was completed during assistant professor Joann Wong's J660 Journalism and Mass Communication Statistics last fall.
