IDS winners were:
- Carrie Shedler and Brad Zehr, first place for feature story, “Jackson’s hometown remembers icon.”
- James Brosker, first place photo, “Snowed in.”
- DeAntae Prince, first place for sports story, “Swiping bases.”
- Indira Dammu, second place for opinion writing, ”A culture of rape.”
- Alyssa Goldman, third place for a news story, “A story never told.”
IU students also attended the HSPA workshops. Junior Haley Adams, Indiana Collegiate Press Association vice president/newspapers, and IDS adviser and ICPA board member Ruth Witmer also attended the weekend’s events.
