IDS looking for overseas correspondents

Gena Asher | Dec. 7, 2009
Want a taste of what it’s like to be an overseas correspondent? The Indiana Daily Student is seeking IU students studying abroad during spring 2010 to report on the culture, politics and current events of their locale.

The Nation/World section of the IDS will feature columns written by students overseas. Writers are not required to be in the School of Journalism or have previous experience working for the IDS, and compensation is on a per-story and/or per-photo basis.

The goals of Writers Abroad are to bolster international coverage in the IDS, add student perspective to international news, and spotlight exceptional students who value cross-cultural learning.

For details, contact Nation/World editor Allison Tyra at amtyra@umail.iu.edu for more information, or stop by the newsroom in EP 120.
