Free Press founder to talk on media, technology policy

Josh Silver, executive director and co-founder of Free Press, a national organization working on media and technology policy, will lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the Ernie Pyle auditorium.

Founded in 2002, Free Press focuses on media reform and has nearly half a million activists and members. The organization “works through education to promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, quality journalism and universal access to communications,” according to FreePress.net.

Silver previous was campaign manager for the Arizonans for Clean Elections and was a director of development at the Smithsonian Institution. He is a featured blogger on Huffington Post.

The talk is free and open to the public.
