Tim Franklin, the Louis A. Weil Jr. Endowed Chair and director of the National Sports Journalism Center, delivered a presentation at the IUPUI Alumni Association's Winter College Feb. 14 in Fort Myers, Fla.

His presentation focused on ESPN executive vice president John A. Walsh, who recreated ESPN's signature news program, SportsCenter, and led the launches of ESPN Radio, ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com. For his presentation, Franklin and media lab director Scott Myrick recorded an extensive video interview with Walsh at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn. They also interviewed other ESPN news executives and journalists for the presentation. Those interviews also will be used in sports journalism classes.
