Farrell to compete in World University Games in China

Journalism junior Margaux Farrell will compete at the 2011 World University Games, Aug. 14-19 in Shenzhen, China. Farrell, who is a dual American-French citizen, will represent France.

Known as the Summer Universiade, the multisport event takes place every two years and is considered the second largest international competition behind the Olympic Games.

Three other IU swimmers also will compete. Farrell is coming off a season where she earned All-America honors in the 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas.
