Professor Steve Raymer, associate professor Radhika Parameswaran and alumna Lori Kido Lopez (MA’08) will participate as speakers in a panel presentation, Media and Citizenship, Sept. 10 during the Citizenship in the United States: Integrating Domestic and International Horizons conference at IU.

Sponsored by IU’s Asian American Studies and Latino Studies departments, the conference is a two-day event featuring speakers and panelists from around the nation.

Presentations include:
  • Parameswaran on “Gender, Colorism, and Beauty: Connecting the United States with India”
  • Raymer on “Reporting the Indian-American Community: A Journalist's Notebook”
  • Lopez on “Beyond Nation and Assimilation: New Directions in Asian American Media Activism”
