ESPN anchor and IU alumna Sage Steele visits Friday at 10:30 a.m. to chat with students in the Ernie Pyle Auditorium.
Steele joined ESPN in February and currently provides SportsCenter updates as well as interviews for both ESPN First Take and Mike and Mike in the Morning.
She began her television career at CBS affiliate WSTB-TV in South Bend, Ind., as a producer and reporter for the station. She then moved on to another CBS affiliate in Indianapolis, where she became the beat reporter for the Indianapolis Colts in addition to covering NASCAR and the IRL.
She later worked in Tampa, Fla., as a reporter, anchor and host for the local ABC affiliate, WFTS-TV. There, she was the beat reporter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1998 to 2001 and covered the 1999 NCAA Final Four.
Steele became the main anchor of Comcast SportsNet at its inception in 2001 and also served as a reporter covering the Baltimore Ravens and hosting a magazine show about the team.
Steele is a 1995 graduate of IU with a B.S. in Sports Communications.
