Sportscaster and IU alumnus Dick Enberg brings his one-man play, Coach, about legendary Marquette basketball coach Al McGuire, to campus Oct. 23.

Performances are at 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Ruth N. Halls Theater, 275 N. Jordan Ave. and Enberg will talk with the audience before and after the showings.

Before becoming a sportscaster himself, McGuire led the Marquette Warriors basketball team to a national championship in 1977. Enberg called the late coach the most unforgettable character he has ever met.

Enberg, currently full-time play-by-play voice of the San Diego Padres, has won 12 Emmys for his work in television and has been named Sportscaster of the Year nine times. During his career, he has covered nearly every major sporting event including the Olympics, the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Rose Bowl, Wimbledon and the many NCAA basketball tournaments.

Enberg received master's and doctoral degrees in health sciences from IU. Coach is his first play.
