Fellows participate in seminars to discuss curriculum development and research design for potential service learning projects. Other School of Journalism faculty who have participated as fellows include assistant professor Hans Ibold, assistant professor Emily Metzgar and the late lecturer Beth Wood. Associate professor Mike Conway also has been a fellow and is a current member of the IU Office of Service Learning Advisory Board.
Several journalism courses address service learning through projects with area nonprofits or social service agencies. Two of Conway's courses have been listed as official service learning courses.
