Conway, Gillis to present work at AJHA conference

Assistant professor Mike Conway and doctoral student William Gillis will attend the American Journalism Historians Association (AJHA) annual conference in Seattle Oct. 1 to Oct. 4.

Conway will discuss shooting oral history interviews on digital video as part of a panel on oral history.

Gillis will present the paper, "Say No to Busing and Binghamism: Backlash against the Louisville Courier-Journal and Louisville Times, 1975-76." Gillis also will appear on the panel, Third Parties and the Fourth Estate: Press and Third-Party Presidential Candidates from Birney to Wallace. He will discuss George Wallace’s relations with the press in the 1968, 1972 and 1976 presidential elections.
