Business program interviews NSJC’s Franklin

National Sports Journalism Center director Tim Franklin was a guest on the Inside Indiana Business television program Sept. 12, where he talked about the center’s programs and projects.

Franklin described the booming growth in sports journalism and the IUPUI-based center’s efforts to provide programming, including a new master’s degree in sports journalism, as a response to this trend.

He also talked about the upcoming workshop featuring writing coach and author Roy Peter Clark and Sports Illustrated reporter L. Jon Wertheim. That Sept. 20 event in Indianapolis is open to students and professionals who want to hear advice and tips on improving their writing.

Inside Indiana Business airs on 15 commercial and public broadcasting stations, including WISH-TV in Indianapolis and WTIU in Bloomington. Viewers also can watch clips, including this one, at the Inside Indiana Business website.
