The School of Journalism’s last guest of the fall Speaker Series, sportscaster Joe Buck, will help out with IU scholarships while he’s here Nov. 10.

The Bloomington Press Club will host a fundraiser featuring the Fox Sports personality at 5 p.m. at Nick’s English Hut, 423 E. Kirkwood Ave. Buck speaks at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave., that evening at 7 p.m. in a free lecture open to the public.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $50, $40 of which is tax-deductible, and help fund the club’s scholarships for IU students who serve as interns for area organizations. Attendees will gather in the upstairs bar to hear from Buck. Food and soft drinks are included.

Buck is a six-time Emmy Award-winner who handles lead play-by-play duties for Fox Sports’ Emmy Award-winning coverage of Major League Baseball and the National Football League. He attended IU in the telecommunications program.
