Gena Asher | March 30, 2010
Students who need internship experience may apply for the Bloomington Press Club’s program, which offers a $1,000 stipend along with a semester-long internship at a Monroe County United Way agency.

Eligible students are undergraduates who are juniors or seniors during the 2010-11 school year.

Students perform a variety of hands-on duties under the guidance of a social service agency’s communications director. Tasks range from writing press releases to working on fundraising campaigns to coordinating special events. This fall, participating agencies are Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, a food pantry, and Middle Way House, a domestic violence shelter.

Deadline to apply is April 8. Download an application here or contact Bloomington Press Club’s Jan Skinner for details.
